SCALLOG robotics at the heart of ALLO SOLAR’s 100% automated logistics platform to become the “Amazon of photovoltaics”!

10 November 2025

Based in the Hérault region and with more than 200,000 customers, ALLO SOLAR has strong ambitions in France. In order to optimize the availability and distribution of its self-assembly solar kits, ALLO SOLAR acquired a new 4,000 m² logistics platform in June 2025, where the SCALLOG “Goods-to-Person” robotic solution optimizes the preparation of small parts orders

French leader in photovoltaics for individuals, VSEs and SMEs, ALLO SOLAR stands out for its wide range of references, ready-to-install solar kits, batteries and accessories, and for its educational approach and advice, deployed both in its new showroom and on its website, to democratize solar self-consumption. Driven by its strong growth and its ambition to become the “Amazon of photovoltaics”, ALLO SOLAR has just acquired a new headquarters and a new 1000% automated logistics platform of 4000 m2, located in Bessan, in June 2025. Designed to increase its storage capacity and speed up its order preparation times, this new platform is based on state-of-the-art logistics robotics, in particular the SCALLOG Goods to Person solution, managed by BK Systèmes’ Speed WMS. At the heart of its automation approach, the SCALLOG area, composed of 150 shelves transported by 5 robots to 2 picking stations, allows ALLO SOLAR to gain in operational efficiency in its retail order picking, by combining storage densification, increased productivity and improved working conditions.

As Marjory BALADOU, Purchasing and Operations Manager at ALLO SOLAR, tells us: “This new warehouse, inspired by Amazon’s “fully automated” model, marks a key step in strengthening our logistics performance and ensuring a more agile and rapid distribution of our products throughout France. With the SCALLOG solution, which coexists with other intralogistics technologies, we are delivering on our customer promise: product availability, speed of shipping and fluidity of the journey, from click to delivery.”

A high-performance and agile robotic solution for part order picking!

Faced with the saturation of its old warehouse, ALLO SOLAR decided in 2024 to build a new 4,000 m² fully automated logistics platform in order to accelerate its development and support its ambitions. It must ensure that the distributor of photovoltaic solutions increases its storage capacity for its 1500 references, absorbs ever-increasing volumes, reduces its execution times while improving its working conditions, hence the need to robotize processes and logistics practices.

In order to optimize the order preparation of the parts of its kits, ALLO SOLAR is looking for a scalable robotic solution, capable of densifying storage and simplifying picking. Beyond a solution, the distributor wants a partner, able to support it from end to end, from software integration to workstation ergonomics and team training.

SCALLOG’s “Goods to Person” robotic solution – from parts to operators – quickly makes a difference, due to three major criteria: productivity, densification of storage space and ergonomics, which  reduces arduousness. Marjory BALADOU, Purchasing and Operations Manager at ALLO SOLAR, adds: “Quick to deploy and resolutely modular, the SCALLOG solution ensures that we can increase our strength, via the addition of robots or stations, as we grow.”

The contract was signed in the spring of 2024. The project was articulated in several key phases, at the opening of the new warehouse in the spring of 2025: installation of robots and shelves, integration with BK Systèmes’ WMS Speed and training of the teams.

From productivity to QWL, the benefits of the SCALLOG solution!

Operational since June 2025, the SCALLOG area, spread over an area of 550 m2, includes 150 mobile shelves transported to two picking stations. The first benefit is densification, as the SCALLOG area already optimises the storage of more than 580 parts items, i.e. around 40% of ALLO SOLAR’s catalogue. The second benefit, the result of process optimization, is that the SCALLOG solution should enable the distributor to triple its productivity in retail order picking. Guided through each step, via on-screen indications and a light beam, from picking from the shelf to placing in the bin, an operator can process 30 orders per station simultaneously. Several hundred part preparations will be shipped every day from the Bessan platform!

At the forefront of Quality of Life and Working Conditions (QWLC), the SCALLOG robotic solution guarantees logistics operators a more serene and ergonomic working environment, freeing them from travel – more than 10 km travelled per day before and from arduous handling, sources of stress, fatigue and risks.

A collaboration placed under the sign of co-construction, as Marjory BALADOU summarises: “Today, we are in the operating and continuous improvement phase of the SCALLOG solution, with the aim of optimising our flows and adapting it to our growth. We have established a pragmatic and fluid collaboration with SCALLOG. We work hand in hand, from design to implementation, in a spirit of co-construction and responsiveness. »

Clémentine BOULANGHIEN, Communication & Marketing Manager at ALLO SOLAR concludes: “This automated platform embodies our desire to combine logistics performance and sustainable commitment. By optimizing our supply chain, we are strengthening our ability to support the energy transition of individuals and accelerate the development of solar self-consumption in France. With more than 550,000 French households already equipped with solar panels, our ambition is to amplify this movement while contributing to the economic dynamism of the Bessan basin, thanks to the emergence of new logistics skills. »
